Marie GAIGNARD

Marie GAIGNARD

Voice, voice 4-6 years

Born in a small town on the west coast of France, Marie Gaignard has been passionate about music since she was a young girl. She decided to pursue this path through piano and singing, studying for several years in Paris at different Conservatories and collaborating with musicians of various genres. Marie then perfected her skills at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne with Leontina Vaduva, and is currently studying in Brigitte Balleys' class.

In 2018, Marie Gaignard performed the title role of Susanna in a production of The Marriage of Figaro with the company Opéra de Bouche à oreille. She also participated in several master classes with artists such as Sandrine Piau, Patricia Petibon, Alain Buet...

For some years, the young soprano has developed a parallel interest in other musical genres and has collaborated with artists from the world of song and jazz. Particularly interested in improvisation, Marie finds in jazz the opportunity to express herself freely while taking advantage of the rigorous technique developed through her classical training. This year she will have the opportunity to sing with Natalie Dessay and Yvan Cassar in a project based on Claude Nougaro's songs at the Stravinsky auditorium in Montreux.

Marie also collaborates with theHEMU Jazz , enriching her experience by participating in private concerts, and at the Chorus Jazz Club. She perfected her skills in this repertoire with Sara Breton-Lazarus, a great jazz interpreter and also a professor at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne.

In 2019, Marie created the Duo Ruĝawith an accordionist friend Laure-Lyne Richard. They both explore the classical and Jazz repertoire in an original formation. Duo Ruĝa were selected for the semi-final of a competition organized by the Lavaux Classic festival and now work with the association of the Concerts du Cœur Vaudois. They collaborate last year at the Les Arts par Nature festival by participating in the residency for young artists. Moreover, the duo had the opportunity to perform and present their project at the RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse), during programs such as the Kiosque à musique and Master sur les Ondes .
